I tried finding a thread first with this problem previously posted and couldn't get any answers.
2000 z28. Stock as stock gets. Around 60k.
All of my gears are engaging roughly. Especially reverse. I have to put the pedal to the floor to get anything out of it. I have fluid in the master and slave reservoirs.
The pressure on the pedal itself feels fine.
They're are no clutch hairs hanging out the bell housing.
Every gear feels like it doesn't want to engage. I have to force it in with the clutch all the way to the floor. Reverse is damn near impossible to grab. Before the shifter physically engages you can feel the car wanting to move already. On a slight hill it will even stop it from rolling backwards.
Any questions, thoughts, and/or further steps to Diag my problem are appreciated. Thank you.

Here is what you need to start with.
1. Suck all the fluid out of your clutch master.
2. fill it with fresh brake fluid.
3. bleed the slave until clear fluid is coming out while making sure the clutch master doesn't go dry.
4. take it for a drive, I am willing to bet you will be happy again.
The problem is the factory hydraulics don't like dirty fluid. I am willing to bet your fluid is black as can be.

Thanks. I just picked up a new clutch for a z06 just in case. I'm going to try bleeding it first. I wish I could have found a remote bleeder as well but hopefully it will all go smoothly.

I took your suggestion. I attempted to bleed it. The bleeder broke off ha! At the casting on the slave cylinder, I didn't twist the bleeder off. So I dropped the whole trans, replaced everything. Got it all back together. Yesterday it felt swell right after I set it back on the ground. Later that night the gears felt a little tighter. This morning... no reverse. Clutch back to the damn floor. Its odd though. It will engage maybe once or twice at first, then after that it gets rough. Air in the lines maybe? I have no idea where to go from here. I used a pressure bleeder to bleed the system. I was done in a few minutes.

if you took the trans out you should have replaced the slave and master with new stuff. Sounds like the trans is fine since it was fine after you reinstalled it and it was working good. You could replace the master and see what happens , that will save you from dropping it again .
If you drop it again get new stuff and a tick remote bleeder.

To be quite honest with you I'm new to hydraulic setups. I'm really not quite sure how the master ties into it. I haven't had a whole lot of time to sit down and gain a better understanding.
