Default Trying to diagnose my T56

Alright, this just started after an entire summer of no problems. If I beat on it, no noises, no missed gears etc. But after being in it, I goto put it in 4th or 5th and even 3rd, slowly, and clutch pedal still in, it'll go into the gear and make a horrifying grinding noise and will last until I take it out of that gear. It'll continue the noise for a second after taking it out of gear. All with the pedal in.

Only other thing it started doing is making a similar noise into reverse rarely, or making a clunk noise when going into reverse. Trans is coming out obviously, but what can I expect? Any ideas?

Are you running a pilot bearing or a pilot bushing in the crankshaft?

Bushing.

No noises at all while stopped, only while rolling

Bushing is shitted out. Replace it with an OEM GM pilot bearing.

Thanks for bringing this back up.

The bushing had indeed shitted. Put in a bearing this past year and not a single problem.
