Default Shifting problems

My clutch used to stick to the floor but a Tick Master took care of that. Now it just wont go into gear right at high rpms.. its almost like the clutch is on the ground but it isnt.. I have a MGW and aftermarket clutch(unsure what brand). Could this be caused by the slave?

Did you bleed the MC thoroughly and also adjust the clutch pedal height?

I have adjusted and tried it everywhere with no success. I am going to re-bleed to check for air in the lines. I would love it if it was a simple fix like that. The clutch is suppose to sit around the brake right? maybe a little lower?

My clutch pedal has gone through the floor. I am guessing this is the same issue you have? I also have the MGW shifter

So you are saying adding a tick MC fixed your problems? I need to fix this, it just stopped the sale of my car...

For me yea it's about the same as the brake pedal, but it varies from car to go so don't go just based on that. Use the steps provided by Tick Performance:

Thanks man. I can't believe this happened the day I was selling the car.....oh well, I would not sell someone something that does that.

Looks like a Tick and Monster clutch is on the way....might as well do both.

Also if it makes a difference, clutch feels soft after doing a prestage burnout, I have to pump it a few times before I run.

I was having similar sypmtoms after i installed my Tick Master. For me what is was, was not having the pedal adjusted higher. Mine sits about 3/4" to 1" above my brake pedal. I had it at level with the brake pedal, and it would feel soft coming out of first sometimes, or just keep me stuck in first til i pumped the pedal. Kept trying to adjust towards the floor, and sometimes it seemed better, but all in all it didnt fix the problem. I was thinking of changing the clutch/slave, thinking it was the problem, but before that i started to adjust the pedal higher than the brake pedal. Low and behold i can finally drive my car again normally. I would try adjusting the pedal out more, and see if that helps, it did for me and saved me a bunch of money.

I had the same problem and the cause was my synchronizers were gone and the trans needed rebuild. I hope thats not your problem.

I really don't think its a synchronizer problem. No grind, no problem shifting at all except at like 6 grand rpms lol

My car was the same way, wouldn't grind DDing but couldn't shift at high RPM. Not saying it's defiantly the problem but I wouldn't rule it out.

I had a new Monster stage 3 and slave put in my car and thought about changing the master since I didn't really know the history on it. Prior to the new clutch and slave I had sticking problems and after I had the same issue past about 5k. I switched to the Tick and that problem was in the past. Now I have a different issue where the clutch pedal will stick at the very top of the release and I can just tap it with my foot and it will pop up the rest of the way. I have yet to look under the dash, but it almost feels like the hydraulics alone are what is returning the pedal and the spring may be broken. Anyone else have this happen? It doesn't feel like its engaging the clutch at all when its stuck like this and it doesn't have a burning smell if I leave it there to see if it will lose any contact with the disc either.

No but the problem got worse with each pass if I hot lapped it.

Yes take the spring out I think Ticks instructions say to do so. I left mine in initially and it caused problems can't remember what they where but taking it out solved them.

Well apparently I did take the spring out. Pedal still just sticks right after full engagement. I will probably just turn the rod 2-3 full twists. It could be just the difference in the shim being worn out some or just the pucks on the disc having wear and needing adjustment at this point. Was just curious if anyone else saw this in the Tick unit.
