Default T56 adapter plate bearing races

I've built two automatics but this is first time on a manual trans. I'm finding the two races in the adapter plate for the input shaft and the countershaft are a slip fit and not a press fit. I don't see any evidence of the races spinning in the bores but just questioning if this is normal or should you stake the bores if you have this condition.

Those races are a slip fit. The shims sit under them. They would onlt spin with excessive preload, which is not per the design. Do not stake them - this is not required.
