HI guy and girls I drive a 2000 trans am and it is an automatic ls1 (the only reason its auto is because it was a great price) any way i am wanting to swap it over to a tremec t56 but i do not want to break the bank while doing so I've found a whole conversion kit used from hawks thirdgen for $2K but I'm not sure i want to do that just yet. id like to just buy a transmission and then slowly buy all the performance upgrades like the clutch and possibly rebuild the trans myself and all the hydraulics basically stuff that will last so with that being said anyone out there have a t56 that needs rebuilt or synchros or basically anything as long as the case is not shattered into a million pieces.

the Hawks kit brings a lot of used parts. Best bet is to find someone selling a good used swap on here but then again there are just certain parts you don't use unless they're new. You will spend over 2k to do it rig hate to tell ya

Best way is to find someone who'd like to swap the other way and do the swap entire. You'd probably still have to pay some premium for the t-56 but it would a lot cheaper than buying outright for $2000. Trouble is, there's probably 1 guy who wants to go M6>A4 for every 9 who want to go the other way.

yeah thats pretty much what i was thinking but i really need this automatic out i don't like to let a computer control my shifts another transmission that i was thinking was an rpm transmissions trans they rebuild all of there trans to make them bad to the bone. there trans are about 2300 for just the trans but they are guaranteed to last as long as you don't exceed the hp rating provided with the trans
