Textralia Exo-Skel.....rebuild
I have a Textralia Exo-Skel, in my c5z. Love the clutch, and fixed all my shifting issues completely. But, it is now time for a rebuild. I have machined the stands down twice, and am now into the rivets of the discs.
Anybody have any info on getting this done? I am about to just go down to the local diesel truck reliners, and ask them if they can do it. I'm pretty sure .320 is the factory thickness, and seems to be industry standard.
I had a Ram relined years ago for a 671 blown chevelle, and it held like a champ. So, any reason I shouldn't go this route?
I've looked into just buying a new clutch, Mcloed or such, but I just like this one, and the low MOI really helps on the "hit". In short, I like it.
I contacted TICK as per the Tex website, and TICK got back to me very promptly and politely with a reply that they don't rebuild them.

I thought Textralia as gone. never see their clutches on any of the ls sites anymore. I know they are based in Australia. might have to contact them to see if they have a place in the states that does rebuilds or can order new disks?
might wanna look into monster. I have the monster lt1-r twin waiting to go in mine.

Ran the Exoskel in my C5Z with good results.
Once we purchased the C6Z, we opted for an RPS twin and never looked back.

Have you ever run a Monster clutch? I hope I don't come off as an ******* but this is why I take most of what I read on this site with a grain of salt. You have a clutch that's not even installed and you're already recommending it. I understand purchases are based on reviews and other peoples experineces but I personally won't recommened anything unless I have actually run it in my car.

I run the rst/rxt McLeod in my car and it's a nice unit that drives amazing. With a fidanza flywheel the whole setup is 33lbs and is only a 9.5" clutch. My buddy has the mister stage 3 and I drive his car often. The McLeod holds the same power and is much easier to drive than his

Thanks, guys. I like the Mcloed, and have many friends running the RXT. I am going to look into rebuilding mine myself. After all, it's only material riveted to a disc. If I cant find a suitable vendor to do it, I will be looking into something extremely light. Like the Spec ultra light twins....although I do like the Mantic clutches also.

If you just need new friction plates, any decent clutch company should either be able to re-line, or supply new plates with the same dimensions.
I tried to buy some a few years ago from Textralia, but they were impossible to get parts from so I gave up.
I had the triple, but in my case the problem was the centre hubs moved on the plate because the rivets werent strong enough ( not helped due to the hub not fully pairing up with the centre hole on the disc )
But it was great while it lasted...I may fix it some day.
