Thinking about dumping LS7 clutch and stock flywheel
I've got an LS7 clutch in my car right now with the stock LS2 flywheel from Tick. The car feels like a total slug to me, slow to rev, can't break tires loose from a roll, etc. The shifting is also very notchy. What kind of difference can I expect moving to a lighter flywheel and clutch assembly? The car is dead stock right now, but I'm really not impressed with it considering it should be a low 13s car. Thing drives like a truck.
Car is a 1999 WS6.

ls7 is heavy , it eats up a lot of power among other issues....
I have one but still don't have an issue lighting them up from a roll but mine has most bolt ons and ran 11.9x for previous owner. What I did notice that may help you light them on a roll for now is roll up till the tach is over 3,000 then mash it , mine will annihilate the tires tripping all over the rev limiter doing this on 295/45/18 nitto 555r's and keep on spinning in 2nd on the rare occasion the damn ls7 clutch doesn't block me out of gear on the shift....
