So I bought a used T56 off eBay. Guy said it was out of a 2001 camaro, but he bought a GTO Trans for better ratios. But he said he used the camaro shifter, and put the GTO shifter on this one if that's possible I don't know. Since from what I can tell the camaro shifter base is square and the GTO is retangular?? So I'm guessing he would of had to swap out the tail housing??? But woukd the shift rod be different length?? So I picked up an aftermarket shifter. It's a McLeod 81-400-004-09. Problem is with shifter in when Trans is in neutral. Well I think it's in neutral the shifter is all the way forward.

I think I figured my problem. Need an F-Body offset lever/shifter cup.
