Default measurement B bigger then A slave cylinder issue?

looking for a little bit of help. I took the measurements of my slave cylinder to tranny and came up with 2 3/16 and my bell housing to PP fingers and got 2 1/16, how is my slave cylinder out further then the distance A? My old setup (how i bought it) was ls7 clutch on an ls1 with tick master. my new setup is the same t-56 with a brand new McLeod rxt twin disk on a new flywheel from jegs (o.e equivalent) bolted onto a 408 iron block. i tried bleeding the slave down but no fluid came out of my remote bleeder and the slave never moved.

thanks for any input.

Did you take the measurements with the solve compressed or just as it sits?

I measure with a construction level compressing the slave

i was pushing on it, but it really doesn't seem to move any further back no matter how hard i push on it. it looks like it needs to go in more comparing how much room is between the black plastic and the slave base to other pics on google. it hasn't been actuated for 2 years now, could it be stuck like a brake caliper?

Your slave is stuck, nice gap under the throwout bearing. It should bottom out. You could crack the bleeder screw and push, or just replace it while it was down then re-measure.

yep that was it, I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to talk to McLeod so I wen to Napa and got an AP marked slave and sure enough it bottomed all the way out. re measured and had a .180 gap.

I finally got my texas speed 408 put in today and should have it running by Tuesday and driving by Thursday. Glad i got it figured out and didn't have to waste a good day of progress.

so for anyone else's use, (not that they are all the same and should be measured anyway) my stock flywheel with an rxt and AP marked slave did not need a shim.

thanks for the replies

Im running an FX lightweight flywheel, stock replacement pp, LUK disc with a valeo slave and I needed a .180 shim to get a 3/16 gap.
