Default Disc disengagement spec

Trying to setup my twin in my 2002 C5. Clutch is a Monster Billet Twin level 2, tick master cylinder. Trying to see if anyone else has this clutch/slave, I have the slave adjusted down heavy, nearly no pedal, dead space then a brief spot where the clutch is dis-engaged. I called monster and was told I needed a .0010 disc (1 thousandth) separation, I have more than that, if I try to get 1 thousandth I end up with zero clutch pedal
