Default Reverse Hard to Get into - 6th also 96 LT1 t56

As title mentioned this is in regards to a 1996 Firebird LT1/T56.

I'm considering it for a daily driver as my cobalt needs more $ put into it than its worth and it isn't any fun at all to drive haha.

Guy sounded ancient on the phone so I'm hoping he's just frail and it's not as bad as he says lol. He says it is super difficult to get into reverse most times and sometimes hard to get into 6th. He said sometimes it'll go in easier than other times.

I'm not super knowledgeable about the T56's as my LS TA is an auto.
Just trying to figure out if it's worth the almost 2 hour drive for a $2800 LT1.
Besides all that it's super clean 130k bone stock white t-top car.
If the shifting issue might not be an internal trans thing I'd be fine with having to do a slave/master cyl or something on it if needed.

Any ideas?

Tough to tell.
If shifting to the right is tough, that's the lockout for reverse. If forward into R, that's fork or synchro parts.
6th can be just pads.
Or, with 130k, it could be other things.
