Default a4 to m6 swap 02 z28

So i am attempting a swap to m6. I am not sure how to go about the wiring. I have a write up for this however am still confused. i am told for my car with hood release to connect the orange wire with a black stripe to "the black wires". I feel this is a bit vague. where am i looking for the black wires. Under the dash or in the console area. Connect the purple with white stripe and the dark green. Like 10 shades of green on here. Which one is it. Where am i looking. under the dash or under the console. I understand many of these come off the six wire plug under the console but there are no instructions as to where exactly the splicing happens. If anyone can help id appreciate it. Please send pictures if you can and plenty of moral support. I accidently posted this same thread in the gen 3 external engine...

You are better off searching the transmission section sticky threads.

Basically you will need to wire the brake pedal switch and the clutch switch to the shifter switch, you will also need to wire the reverse lights to the shifter switch.

It sounds like a pain but you can find the wiring diagram and it will make more sense

I looked in the sticky and it wasn't helpful to me. I guess ill have to pull the entire harness out so I can figure it out. I just didn't want to tear the entire car apart if I could get a simple answer.

Oh I thought it was just another electrical diagram. I didn't realize it gave general location.
Thank you and god bless.

Default ignition lock cable

Well If this cable is pushed all the way in the car should theoretically start. I see no point in removing it. So ill find out the hard way and let yall know since nobody has chimed in.

The cable does not need to be removed. its natural position is closed circuit.

That's the shift interlock. You do not need it. It just locks the ignition mechanism so you can't take the key out of the ignition unless the shifter is in park. So it's cable driven and is not used. I think I just cut the cable but left the pin box on the column, that way nothing could find its way into the slot accidentally. I may have just removed it all together though

The only thing that keeps the swap from running, meaning the only thing that actually prevents the car from just being slap the parts on and drive, is the neutral switch. You could just connect the two wires and bypass the switch but I prefer to do it right.
