5/6 synchro hub/slider seems to have exploded LOFL !!

It's damaged 5th gear and its counterpart too.

Sent a few emails to various vendors to see if parts are available to fix the damn thing at some sort of sensible cost....and quickly as kinda need it for next weekend

It is a race car after all. 5th/6th to 3rd downshifts from highway to off ramps?

It ******* pissed me off, but was cool when I opened it up. I thought it just broke a fork or roll pin or something !! But even more so as I've another two events over next two weekends lol.

It was during a 1/2 mile attempt, 4th going into 5th...but 5th just didnt appear lol. A large part of this is down to clutch issues I've been having too I'd be fairly sure, but that's another story.

Ain't life great....you put in your spare gearbox...then destroy 5th gear LOL

FFS, only 2 boxes I've had for around 15 years...and break both in the space of 2 weeks

Overdrive gears really can't take a lot of power. Not really meant for that.

I've no issue ripping the teeth off the gears...I'm surprised they've lasted as well as they had on both boxes.

The synchro/slider is another matter though.
