Default Hinson shifter

I have had the Hinson shifter in my camaro for a few months now, I like it, however it feels a bit too short for my liking, has anyone replaced the handle with a taller one? If so what works with this shifter?

I think handle fitments were discussed in Hinson's thread where they promote the shifters.

I keep reading mixed reviews on this shifter. I here notchy then some say smoother than MGW. I know it does not center but that is because it has no centering springs. Does it take any more force to shift than stock or MGW shifter?
