Clutch went from smooth to chattery over night
Wondering what could cause this. I noticed a couple weeks ago that my clutch went from perfectly smooth to chattery over night. I had been putting a lot of miles on the car this year, lots of highway driving. No hard launches or riding the clutch but I did do a lot of passing on two lane highways. Mostly 4th but sometimes 3rd then 4th. The transmission was also getting locked out of 1st, 2nd, and reverse occasionally. I'd have to pop it into 3rd or 4th and then the other gears would work.
This week I changed the clutch fluid from DOT 3 to DOT 4. It was pretty black. I also changed my trans fluid which was also pretty dark. Those fluid changes seemed to help with the difficulty of getting in gear but I still feel the chatter. Sometimes, not all the time, it will chatter in every gear even though I essentially drop the clutch when shifting. I have a street pro McLeod clutch kit and a Fidanza aluminum flywheel with maybe 15-20 thousand miles on them.
