Default Any reason NOT to use a pilot bushing?

I know the downsides of using a pilot bearing is those things can blow out/fall apart and damage the input shaft tip, but are there any downsides to using the bushing version (just plain bushing with no needle bearing) ?
Ive seen sites label as "race only", why is that?

Ive seen guys on here and other forums swear by them and won't use a bearing version again, but Im just checking if there are any real downsides.

Bushing-Bearing topic has been debated for years.

Tremac has way more 411 on why they spec a bearing vs bushing than I do which is why I use the bearing

With that said I hear people do use a bushing without issue,,,,not sure if those were "high mile" use
