Not the nicest clutch for a daily but for that thing it’ll rev like mad and it shifts so incredibly well at high rpm

Not sure a hard hitting clutch is what one would want in a liteweight autocrossing exo.

I'd suggest something lightweight that's more matched to the engine's torque. Mini twin is rated at 800 ftlbs, something rated at 500 ftlbs is going to engage much more smoothly when up/down shifting at the track.

Lightweight clutches were made for road type racing. The smaller lighter they are the faster the car comes off the corner.

Tq rating has nothing to do with drivability that i have seen. What's peak tq have to do with how a clutch engages?

That can be adjusted in the tune some, master size, throw out bearing diameter, ratio of pedal to master. One if the simplest things is to use a clutch stop.

When your car weighs 1850# it's a little different.

? There is no smooth engagement in a race car. Stuff's on, or off. Rev matching is the job of your right foot, not the clutch.

Why have a clutch that has 60% more capacity than you need? A properly spec'd clutch can be lighter, offer smoother engagement, and be more forgiving when you make a mistake.

There is a great deal of wisdom in this thread if you can weed through the name calling in some of the posts. If you drag race and wish to obtain the utmost performance, the LS7 is junk no matter what hydraulics are used. Having started with a bonestock C6Z, we quickly found out that the clutch was a limiting factor. One of the first and most substantial improvements was installing an RPS BC2 with an aluminum FW. As stated in other posts, the motor revved much quicker, put more power to the tires, and IMHO much easier and more fun to drive. The car drove so well, I was able to teach my 18 year older daughter at the time how to drive a manual trans car.

Rps is a badass....great choice....probably the best choice in clutches right now. But $$. Although you can find decent deals on them used and from the wear on Darths after 15k miles it would take a long time to kill one.

You’re going to have a hard time finding a clutch much lighter than the spec mini twin. It’s like 18 lbs total

Oh I would imagine so. For what you’re doing I think you’ll
Love it. Heck I liked it in my street car. If you’re doing a lot of hard shifting it’ll
Save your trans too

Look into something light. Personally i want nothing over 30lb. 25~lb is likely the sweet spot for a clutch and flywheel combo. The set up i currently run for the last 10years is 16lb complete.
Yeah, it definitely feels heavy.
