Is it easy to swap out a TKO600 for a T56?
I am looking at a car for sale in Europe that had an LS7 installed in place of the original engine.
The shop that did the engine swap put in a TKO600 into the car at the time.
Now they install T56's, which is my preference. As living in North America there is definitely more highway driving, and the double overdrive is very handy on the highway for keeping the revs down.
The shop said that it is not a hard swap, not cutting etc requited, but will be a tight fit.
they quoted me US$7000 to do the swap. This seems high to me.
Does anyone know what would be involved in a swap?
I have tried searching everywhere but can't find anyone who has done that swap.

Without any details of the vehicle...how is anyone here going to know how much work is involved ?
And what does that quote cover ?
New Magnum or other ? Used T56, other ?
What flywheel, clutch, driveshaft etc ?
Modify car, body, trans mounts etc ?
and are you saying this is a US based shop doing the work, or one in Europe ? Where ?
Dont forget, prices of anything here will be far higher than in the US because we have to import everything which is very expensive, shipping, taxes etc. So if you then try and convert a Euro based price back to dollars it will always seem a huge price.
