Im pretty sure i already know what happened, but i have recently purchased my t56 for a start to my upcoming swap collection. Started doing my search for parts to convert the lt1 trans to fit an ls1 and came across a midplate on ebay that was written very clearly that it was for a 96, but the pictures showed that it was a hydro midplate. Maybe he posted the wrong pics, it arrives and nope, it is indeed a hydro midplate. I was hoping it would be and i was pretty sure it was just a descriptive error. I just want to get a heads up from anybody else to be extra sure... did any 96 t56 trans come with a hydraulic thowout?

 

If 1 of the 2 slave cylinder bolts is in between the feed and the bleed, you have a Chrysler front plate. Shallower slave mount I believe, and thicker overall.
