Default Cluthc engagement points changing

I had my clutch pedal set to where it was engaging about 1 1/2" from the floor when I put my Z06 clutch in about 500 miles ago. Most everthing seems to be working ok, but now my clutch isn't engaging until the pedal is 3-4" from the floor. Is this a sign of severe clutch wear already or should I just re-adjust my master cylinder and not worry about it?

I still have my stock clutch at 40k and i seem to be having the same problem you are...when i first bought the car 20 k ago it was grabbing fine...and seemed at a normal point, but now it seems like sometimes it grabs high and sometimes it grabs normal again. Anyone have any ideas? I'm considering either a spec III or a ram vds. Is our problem just an adjustment or should we look into new clutches, i'm pretty sure i'm going to get one regardless but for CamaroSSdotcom w/ a new Z06 clutch..i'm guessing just a readjustment...p.s..i've heard z06 clutches arent the greatest.

How does your Z06 clutch get along with your Vigilante 3200 TC?

I've seen the behavior you describe on mine also, McLeod master cyl and Ram street clutch. It's only my first season w/ the LS1 in the car so I'm not sure what's normal.

Before 2 days of road course at Indy, I had my clutch pedal engaging/disengaging close to the floor where I like it. After Indy, I'm noticing my engage point is now higher than before.

I'd imagine that it may be the hydraulic system performance would have improved...maybe squeezed out an air bubble I didn't get during bleeding or something. The Helms book does prescribe ~30 clutch actuations as a bleeding procedure.

I'm thinking I'll just re-adjust the master rod to put the points back where I like them, and see if it happens again. If not, I write it off to insufficient initial bleeding.

Sounds reasonable. Guess I'll just do the same thing. Thanks.
