Default TR6060 Differences?

Hi everyone, i am looking to put a TR6060 on my supercharged ly6 engine. The problem is that the trans that someone has locally for sale states that it is only for the lsa or lsx with 8 bolt crankshaft. Mine has 6 bolts. Im wondering if all i have to do is swap flywheels or if the input shaft is different in some way that wont let it work with the 6 bolt crank. Below is a link to the transmission i am looking at and another that says it is for a camaro. Thanks

You can run it.... but remember that driveshaft is around $1,000 to make (CV style), the shifter will take some adapting (time/modifying), the bellhousing isn't removable (if you need an SFi steel one).

If that is the LSA style TR6060 it has the preferred 2.66 gearing.

Just run the standard 6 bolt flywheel and you will be fine.

What car is this going into?

This will be going in to a 57 chevy nomad behind a lsa supercharged ly6. The TR6060 that is for sale looks to be rated for 500 torque and i will be around 600 so that may be a bad combination. I was not wanting to spend 5k+ for a transmission but i also dont want to be blowing transmissions.

A brand new Magnum is nowhere near $5k and probably more user friendly for a swap.

Brand new T56 is only 3500, you should probably just do that.

Thanks for the replies. They call the new trans they sale for the aftermarket a t56 magnum and it is rated at 700 lb/ft of torque. Uses the internals of the tr6060 plus some other magic. This is a perfect trans for me but by the time i buy a bell housing, clutch, shifter and whatever other little things i need it will be over 5k from what i have seen. The tr6060 had everything and was 2500 so that was why i was inquiring about it. Does anyone have recommendations on a good street able clutch that can handle 600hp and also a bell housing/ scatter shield? I guess i will start looking for a t56 magnum.

Tr6060 internals with similar output style to a T56 and three usable shifter locations. It shares 0 in common with a garden T56. As in not one single part.

Yep, not one single part of a Magnum is T56.

A T56 Magnum is a generically packaged TR6060 designed to fit several applications but requiring some modifications to do so. As for the comment about not one single part interchanges between a Magnum and a basic T56, that is not true. There are things like fork pad inserts and some of the bearings are the same as well as the front seal.

Are you still available for help? I'm currently doing the same, but I'm putting it in an actual 2012 camaro with 6 bolt flywheel, but afraid to pull the trigger because some are saying it won't engage the clutch. I have the MG9 and the stock ZL1 slave cylinder. I have an SS slave, but it may sit to far on the diaphragm. Help please.
