Default Could my trany handle 425hp?

I'm planning on a rebuild and adding LT4 heads, Lt4 intake, and a CC306. After all the bolt-ons i'm guessing i'll be somewhere around 425-450hp hopefully. Could my stock M6 handle that kinda power easily? If not is there something i can do to make it stronger? Thanks, Cory

425-450 at the crank or wheels? My tranny broke a slider key with less than 2,000 miles on it.Get a good aftermarket shifter with stops(pro 5.0) so you dont over extend going for gears and it should help it last longer. The gears will hold up,it's mainly the slider keys that fail and the 3-4 shift fork also bends .G-force tanns. sells billet slider keys to help fix this.I have a pro 5.0 shifter and still messed up my stock slider keys so I don't know if the shifter with the stops is the cure but it will sure help.So the tranny will hold up to the power but you might have to do a mini rebuild with billet slider keys and heat treated syncro's to really hold up to the power. It's still cheaper that a good high stall converter

The T-56 can handle that power level easily....it's the clutch that you have to be picky about. The T-56 is a tough trans but simple human error can destroy it. I have seem several stock T-56s handle 600+ RWHP but then again I have seen bone stock cars tear up their T-56 because the driver iwas careless when shifting.
