Default Tranny stuck in fouth

I have an 04 GTO and it stuck in 4th gear today. I was driving normally and started to slow down when I found I could not downshift. After I pulled over, I shut off the motor and the tranny moved through the gears like normal. But, if I started it, it would not go into gear. I ended up putting it in 2nd, stepping on the clutch and I and drove it home in 2nd gear. It would not come out of any gear once in.

I suspect the slave or the master, but the car is acting weird and seems like a linkage problem. So, what is the best way to test the master. I changed the slave 3 years ago after it started leaking. I have no leaks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,

I found out whats wrong. The line to the slave loosened up. This happened three years ago and I replaced the line and slave. At that time, I used teflon tape on the line threads. This time, I will use locktite blue. Any clues as to why this is happening?? Aggravated!
