of all the ones ive tried i perfer the B&M
ive tried the hurst and pro 5.0 and like the B&M better, has a good feel and easier to hit the gears.

I love my B&M, but you will hear lots of votes for the Pro 5.0 as well. I have never used the 5.0, but it is much easier to use a short stick on it than the Ripper. The Ripper can be made shorter, but you'll have to take it to a machine shop to do it (which is really no big deal).

Regardless, it was a HUGE step above the factory Hurst...the throw is shorter, and the gear changes are much crisper. You won't be disappointed whichever way you go...

which do you like better...Blondes or Brunettes? its the same kind of question. subjective.

Pro 5.0 will be notchy but you can really feel the shifting.
B&M is one peice, very sturdy, bit smoother than the Pro 5.0, shortening it isn't as conveinent
Hurst Billet Plus, decent short throw, not as notchy as the pro 5.0, not as smooth as the B&M...probably the cheapest (lss compatible).
Stock Hurst with short stick, not as much tranny noise, shorter throw, many people like this cause it firms up the shifts just a little bit but doesnt make it uncomfortable for every day use.

THis is just what i've researched, I have only personal experience with the stock hurst with lous short stick, which felt pretty good.

I've got the B&M and really like it. I've never driven a car with the 5.0 or Hurst Billet though so I can't comment on them. Whatever one you choose it'll be an improvement over stock.

I just put in a LSS on my stock Hurst and it totally changed the feel; definite improvement, more feel, a lot shorter and quicker, but still smooth. The only problem is more noise is transmited into the car. I've driven cars with the Pro 5.0 w/ regular stick and LSS, I don't like the notchy feel. Regular stock shifter just blows period.

I have the Pro 5.0 with the Lou's short stick and it was a night and day difference from the factory Hurst. Yes it is notchy, but I like the feel b/c there is never any doubt when I am in gear and what gear I am in, if that makes sense. I paid about 215 bucks for the shifter and the short stick and they are hands down the best cheap mod that I have done to my car so far.

I have the pro 5.0 in mine and it was a HUGE difference from stock. I wouldn't say its the most amazing thing but it is good. I have never driven anything but that so I can't compare it to nothing but the stock one. When I was looking for one I ordered a ripper and sent it back, I started a thread and talked to a few friends and almost everyone told me to retun the ripper and get the pro 5.0. So I never even drove my car with the ripper in it.

I am happy with my Hurst Billet Plus, but I haven't driven a Pro 5.0 or a B&M. I thought about the Kirban, but I couldn't find much real world info on it. I also got a steal on my Hurst.
