Default Book time for LS1 Fbody clutch install

Debating having a shop do the clutch. Anyone know a current book time for an LS1 FBody? I thought it was 3hrs, but a shop told me $450 today.

My labor manual shows 5.3 hrs for clutch replacement on a 2000 Firebird...which from your user name, I assume, is what your asking about.

Assuming a labor rate of $90.00 an hour, that would be $477.00...so it sounds about right.

No guarantee the transmission shop will do all that is required and do it right. I could have been seriously injured or killed when I lost my brakes because the guy they hired to install my new clutch and flywheel, the pilot bearing and clutch master cylinder had forgot to put the keeper back on the shaft that keeps the brake actuator arm in place. He had removed this keeper to drop the brake down to gain more access. The guy denied it but how else could it have happened that things not easy to pop off once its installed correctly. No I've been burned by mechanics too many times and I nobody will care for your car better than you. For all I know that didn't even replace the pilot bearing when they did the job.

That was when it was a stocker. Since that day I've done all the installations and modifications myself.
