Buying new. What's the difference between these two T-56s?
I'm working on my LS376/480 swap into my 1991 Fox Body Mustang Coupe. I've already ordered the engine. Now I need a 6-sp. I've noticed that there can be a big difference in price but I don't know the difference in the actual transmissions.
Both of the following are from Summit Racing and the price difference is big!
1. TUET 11009, $3195
2. Chev Perf 19352208 $4056.92
Are these the same transmission? They appear to be the same to me but I want to be sure.

I enquired with Tremec about the difference some time ago too, and it does seem the dual speedo outputs are the only difference.
Seems odd given the huge price difference between the two boxes though.

Thanks for your reply, stevie. It really does seem to be a huge price difference for not a lot of actual difference in the transmissions.

And I quote part of the reply from Tremec....wow...almost exactly 1 year ago lol.
"The Super Magnum is the same as other Magnums except for a 40-tooth tone wheel to work with GM Connect & Cruise controller kits."

I’m guessing that if I don’t use the General Motors engine controller, that 40-tooth tone wheel wouldn’t do me any good. Even though I think it’s very pricey, I’m planning on using the Holley system.

If you have no need for that dual speedo output, then it does seem like a waste of money.
My regular Magnum had the normal VR 2 wire speed sensor on it, although I think it might be a 12 tooth wheel inside or something. Never actually looked as I wouldnt be using it.
Although if you needed either a speed or driveshaft speed trigger it would work for you and with no OEM ecu or parts to keep happy, should be fine for any aftermarket ecu to use.
