McLeod twin disc? Or SPEC? Need help deciding...
Working on the plans of my next setup. This will be for an LS1 T-56. Looking to keep things around 800-850 ft pounds of TQ at the wheels. I want the twin disc for either, but not sure which would be better. This will be 95% of the time for a street car, so driving behavior is very important to me, only bested by reliability. I have personally owned 3 different SPEC clutches. Personally I have never had an issue with them and like them as a whole, but know others (mostly a long time ago) who did have issues with their SPEC clutches. I have never owned a twin disc from them, but would figure it would likely be fine. I have only had 1 clutch from McLeod and it was their LT1 twin disc, and I LOVED the cltuch. But I also know others that had issues with their Mcleod, so they are not 100% either.
The SPEC super twin will be cheaper by more than a few hundred dollars than the Mcleod. So, price wise the SPEC wins. I wanted to check in here to see if anyone has owned and used either of these clutches and could give some good input on which I should go with.

I've never even heard of ACT clutches. Do you have more info on them?
Looking for something similar to the Spec twin disc and Mcleod twin disc as far as performance, driveability and reliability.
I'm going to have somewhere between 800 and 900.ft pounds of torque and want something that will drive great and still hold that power level.
I had hoped for some people to chime in with their epxeriece with either of the 2 listed clutches.

Do your research
I can tell just buy studying their web site they are the best of the best .. I can give you a link where you can pay $2,200 if that will make you fell better..
But yes dealing with a company on the other side of the planet could be pain.. There are some hardcore hotrodders Down Under

Having 1 member say they are the "best of the best" and then having countless members have great experiences with them are 2 totally different things.
Especially considering I have had a Mcleod clutch before and I have never heard of the other. Not to mention the McLeod unit I want is literally half the price of the other.

Well, now after looking into the Mcleod twin disc, it seems the highest it's rated is 800 ft pounds of torque. Usually this is measured at the flywheel also. This will unfortunately be a deal breaker, as my goal will be somewhere in the 850-950 RWTQ range.
I think I'm gonna end up getting a SPEC setup if this is correct.
