Default OE flywheel re-install

I stupidly took off my OE flywheel without noticing its position on the crank. Were they installed some standard way from the factory, like that extra hole in the FW lined up with the extra hole in the crank flange? I'm thinking of re-using my FW since it's in good shape, and I wouldn't have to worry about getting it balanced. These stock ones are external balanced, right? So in theory it wouldn't matter what position it's installed in?

Whilst there is a dowel hole...oddly there never were any dowels

Why not just align it with that as everyone else does ?
