The trans is angled, BUT the shifter flange as well as the rear mount flange are level. It looks very weird. Not sure why the engineers designed it that way. Not sure about the exact degrees?

I'm pretty sure most GM motors and trans are mounted 3* down, You can measure angle off the balancer or the tail shaft like pictured below.

I thought OP was referring to side to side angle, not front to back. When bolted to the bell, the trans is “twisted” but shifter flange is square. I misunderstood the question.

Che70velle, you are correct, the side to side angle, I'm using the the bellhousing to mount a different trans.

Thanks.

Many manual transmissions are angled / tilted toward the driver . This enhances the shift gate feel to the driver when introduced at an angle. The t5s in the f-car were tilted 12 degrees. t56s , I believe, are more like 6 degrees. This can be a real problem in retrofit builds because if you use a bell that does not have a matching tilt angle to the trans , the trans mount will need a wedge-shaped shim. Also, the shifter/ gate pattern can be tilted in the wrong direction.

I guess I read it wrong, Are you guys talking about transmission centerline or shifter?
