Default Spec 3 Owners please...come inside

I know there is a bunch of chattering when it's first installed...but is the chattering enough to shake the entire car? I just want to check on this cause I never saw anything about it. Also, when I take off in first and it chatters, it feels like the chattering even makes the driveshaft shake as well...any facts on this? thanks guy

you need to break it in for 500 miles
the chatter usually goes a way by then
and with that set up you have you should know how to drive the clutch by now a few revs and a quicker than stock release and your fine you set up is pretty much identical to my car and i drive mine every day and have 35k on my spec 3 ceramic the old style

Chatter doesn't shake the whole damn drivetrain.

Gears make a huge difference in the amount of chatter you get also (numerically higher=less chatter). I have 4.11's in the 12 bolt and have never gotten any chatter.
Let it break in and see if it gets any better.

Save ur self a headache and go with Mcleod. I used to have SPEC 3 Carbon/Carbon and it was nothing but problems. The first clutch was gone around 1K miles after the 500 miles break in. The chatter shakes the whole damn drivetrain. Anyways SPEC were nice about it and sent me another clutch, flywheel and pressure plate. The 2nd one messed up my stock Master Slave cylinder around 900 miles and there was no pressure in the clutch pedal. After spending all that money on the clutch and installation i took the clutch kit out and went with a Mcleod kit.... The Mcleod was tricky to get it going because of the adj master slave cylinder, but after i got it right, its running strong, no chatter and i drive it everyday. The only thing i didnt like about the Mcleod is that it didnt like to be slipped at the track when launching which caused the clutch to heat and start slipping a little bit after two runs of slipping it. I left it to cool down and it was biting hard again with no problems. I have to admit the pedal feel on the SPEC feels more solid, shorter and the bite power is great even when u slip the clutch out of the hole, but the chatter will make u hate the thing. Good luck.

Mine did the same thing, I thought something was wrong but as soon as I hit around 400 miles it was 100% better. Now I don't get any chatter at all. I would buy a SPEC Clutch in a heartbeat, great clutch

my stage 4 quit chattering after going with 3.70's and getting about 800 miles on it........ it needs 4.30's because 3.42/3.70's is SOOOOOOOO not enough gear

the chatter pretty much goes away. it won't ever be as smooth as stock, but it's pretty simple to drive. little higher revs and a quicker release. or just put your foot in the gas more aggresively and you won't get any more chatter

Honestly, I've grown to hate mine. Spec 3- lightweight flywheel- W/410s . I only drove with the stock clutch for about 2 weeks before I got the Spec. On the other hand it did help lay down some nice 1/4 mile times and it's funny as hell to watch my friends try to drive it. I want an auto.....the grass is always greener right

just rev it a little more and quicker release. solid tranny mount helps take out all the slop. I just ordered a torque arm and I think that will help too. I hate having passengers that don't understand how to tighten their neck when I take off. You know what I'm talking about, you take off from a stop and their head practically falls off!

I have the Spec 3 Ceramic. It patently sucks in stop-and-go (unless you like really bad chatter, in which case you're good to go). Wouldn't trade it for anything on the track though - the sucker bites and holds like mad when launching.
