If you mean why is it missing, it isn’t, it’s the smaller one deep inside. If you mean why does it look like a bushing and not a bearing, maybe because it is. If neither one of those answers fits your question, maybe you need to ask a question that isn’t so vague.

yea I figured it was a bushing but it doesn’t look bronze like most of em, I also found a few needle bearings behind it you can kinda see em in the picture if you zoom in, there were also a few on the tranny... but yea I agree with you sure looks like a bushing to me! Should I just run it like that?

It’s not a bushing, it looks and sounds like the bearing is missing the inner case as well as all of the needles. Replace it. how does the input shaft look?

what I don’t get is how is there not any like groves for the needle bearings thou? And it has a lil play but I don’t think it’s much to worry about

I’ll take a picture of the front of it later but it didn’t look bad from what I remember lol

Would it be easier to get the puller tool in there with out the bearings? Or would I have to take apart the tool to get the teeth in there

Even with a bearing removal tool it can (and did for me) destroy the bearing. I replaced mine when I replaced the clutch. These things are cheap and not difficult to install, just to pain to remove. Getting the tool in and extracting depends on how much room you have to maneuver under the car, I think I installed it a little off center which is why it pulled the bearing apart, needle bearings all over the place. I have seen people use crazy things to get these out on the internet, still the tool is the best option. Mine took about 20 minutes before the bearing cracked and finally wanted to budge.

yea I’m guessing the person before me just gave up on taking it out because they left the needle bearings in the hole and some even made it back to the tranny luckily my monster kit looks good enough to put back together lol. Well to bad I installed the bellhousing already but that’s better than removing the tranny lol

Finally replaced the pilot bearing, everything went smooth! I was wondering if y’all could give me a hand with figuring out which bolts to use for the slave cylinder. So I need to use ticks .180” shim and the stock bolts measure 25mm length, I’m trying to figure it but can’t really get a grip on can y’all shoot me some advice please? This all need left and everything is going back in

Better safe than sorry. The shop that installed mine used new bolts because they has to install the thickest and thinnest shim. When we tried just the thickest shim it was close and I am glad new loner bolts were used. Just make sure the new bolts have the same thread pitch and the same or better tinsel strength rating.

Not sure, I sent the shop an email. One way to check the length would be to take the bolt and put it on the slave with the shims you are installing and measure how long the bolt is, mark it on the bolt and then put it into the transmission to that depth to see if it bottoms out before you get to the mark. I am NOT sure if it has a bottom or if anything is on the other side of the hole however, that is beyond my knowledge on the T56.

I am running with 0.235, which required the longer bolts. The 0.133 shim was as far as I felt comfortable with the stock bolts. If I hear back I'll post here.

I have to use ticks thickest shim to get my gappage to 1/16” and honestly the bolts grabbed alright just stripped one thinking of helicoil or might just get the 30mm bolts and run it like that **** it I’m ready to drive my **** again
