Default Looking for a Clutch Recommendation

Hi everyone.

I have a 2000 Trans Am that I last replaced the clutch on about 17 years ago with a Fidanza aluminium flywheel and the LS7 clutch. It's now time to replace the clutch again and while I can get the Fidanza replacement surface for the flywheel and an LS7 clutch I've been doing reading on here and see that there are some other options out there now that might be better. The car is driven mainly on weekends and in the summer but I'd like to keep the clutch feel/drive-ability close to stock. The car has seen the track once in 22 years so I'm not worried about performance for that.

The car has a new T56 Magnum, new slave cylinder, long tube headers, head, and a LS6 intake. Eventually I'm hoping to do a cam as well but nothing extreme, I'm thinking when all done to be between 400-450 rwhp.

The options I have been considering are as follows:

1. Replace the existing setup with a new LS7 clutch and replacement surface for the flywheel.
2. Monster LT1-S
3. Summit Racing SUM-700901 - Summit Racin Pro Twin Clutch Kit

I haven't had any issues with the current setup but I'd like to hear anyone's experience with either of the other two setups or other recommendations.

Thanks in advance

I have the lt1-s and overall am satisfied with it, I've had it for 7 or 8 years now and have had a few people drive my car while i was active duty and deployed and they had no problems driving it at all even though they aren't used to driving a manual. The other day I went and got a state inspection and the inspector was also able to jump right in and drive it like it was a stock vehicle.

I am not enamored with the ceremetallic discs on my Mantic 9000+ Twin for daily driving. I only chose that material because Geoff was worried about overheating the organic disks during HPDE sessions. For a non-track day car, my opinion is to stick with the organic discs if they will remain reliable for the intended applications. Perhaps Tony can still provide that kit with the organic discs.

It is available in organic as well, exclusively through Tony.

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

I'm leaning towards the LT1-S but I'm going to check out the Mantic.
