Default help. noise in 1st and 2nd under light acceleration

thanks in advance to anyone who bothers to try and help another 'noisy xxx' thread.

i have a noise, so i did a search, and found this post:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/manual-transmission/99606-tranny-makes-grinding-noise-gear-under-accel.html

not alot of info in that post, but i have that exact same problem, in 1st and 2nd gear, while AND after letting the clutch out and giving it enough gas to just get moving (well under 2k rpm) it has a sort-of rough mechanical meshing sound, which goes away with increased rpms. its not a real bad noise, and you can barely hear it unless you have it reflected back to you off a building or something. honestly, if it were a pickup truck or the like i wouldnt think twice about it...

it shifts fine, doesnt pop out of gear or grind or whine, but that noise still freaks me out. i've driven a z06 with a m6 on 10 or so different occasions and never noticed a noise like that. my car is a '98WS6 with 34k miles on it, i bought it at 28k. i didnt notice the noise right away, its one of those noises you learn to hear if you know what i mean.

anyway, i did a search on bad syncros and i'm unclear if thats my problem or not since it shifts fine. maybe what i'm hearing is clutch chatter, but i dont really know what a chattering clutch sounds like. bad throwout bearing? rear end maybe?

i have the thing under warranty, i'd just like to be armed with some knowledge before i take it in. and this time tell them not to jack on my fender tabs...
