T56 clutch not engaging quick enough
I just bought a 1996 Trans AM with a built LT1 and a stock 6 speed T56. The car did not run when I got it but once I got it running I noticed the clutch pedal is too high when the clutch starts to engage, almost all the way up. I was told it is supposed to have a RAM 92516 clutch in it that is fairly new. Typically on a hydraulic clutch I would think the disk is worn out but since the previous owner stated it was replaced a few thousand miles ago.
Anyone else experience this or have any suggestions on what to check?

The hydraulics are all stock
I am planning on removing the trans in a few weeks and inspect the clutch.

...ah "bearing", given you didn't install the MC, perhaps you misunderstood the mechanic
The MC attaches to pedal arm with a clevis pin. Mine was plug and play to my clutch pedal
You saying the mechanic had to grind the swivel/bearing end on MC rod to fit in your pedal?
Thats not something you would want to "grind" to fit

If I understood him correctly, yes. Doesn't seem to be an issue.
