I have to pro 5.0 and love it. I would go ahead and get the kit that comes with the skip shift eliminator. Very nice and tight shifts.

I've had the Kirban and Hurst BP in my car. After driving a car with a Ripper, I bought one immediately.

I like to be able to adjust the distance the shifter sits away from me. I have to move the seat way back and reaching for 5th while strapped into a seat with a 5pt makes it hard to get. Reverse was almost impossible. But that 1/2" of adjustment makes a huge difference.

I also like the fact that the shifter curves over towards the steering wheel, reducing the distance between my hand on the wheel and the shifter.

I have had my Pro 5.0 for over 6 years now and haven't missed any gears. It is great. I forgot what the stock one felt like. Do a search on Pro or Pro 5.0 and you will get a lot of info. Go ahead and get it.

I have a SLP/Factory Hurst Base with an "ebay short stick". And yall can call me crazy, but I think its the BEST setup out there. Its FAR shorter than the B&M, and a mile shorter than the Pro 5.0! And the stick it just 25 shipped to your door in 2 days!

My vote goes for the 5.0, because I have it and love it. Nobody should have to use the factory shifter. I got Jarod's short stick, which is considerably cheaper than Lou's. I haven't tried any other aftermarket shifter so I can't speak on them. Whatever you get, it has to be better than the factory shifter! Order one now!

The factory hurst shifter isn't bad...it is the factory stick w/ rubber isolator that is the culprit. I have the same setup as SilverLS1 and I love it. No more third gear misses. If I were you I would spend the $25 on the short stick. If you like it, you have $350 left for other mods, if you hate it re-sell it on ebay and buy an expensive shifter.

I don't have the Jarod's. I got mine from a seller on ebay. I imagine that it is very similar to Jarod's, but I don't know what the price differential is.

If the time expires before you read this he should have another one for sale shortly. That is the same guy I got mine from. It felt a little wierd at first because of its difference in length from the stocker, but after a day of use, I had it mastered.

That would be the same as the Lou's Short Stick, minus the bend. The bend is nice because it moves the shifter back more towards the driver.

LSS and Stock Hurst for me and I LOVE IT!

Plus you can get a used LSS for 25-30 shipped, I just picked up two a month ago for myself and a friend.

I got the Pro 5.0 and the UMI stick, excellent feel

There is special on the UMI handles right now for $19.99 in the GP area, they have the angle milled so it goes to the driver, same a bend. Check it out
