Default LT1 LS1 T56 question

I am looking to do a T56 swap in my truck and might have found a LT1 T56. Will a T56 from a LT1 Bolt up to a LS1 bellhousing and LS1, or should I keep looking for a LS1 T56?

Keep looking. The input shaft length and clutch slave cyl designs are not interchangeable btw the LS1 and LT1 trannies.

OK, now I was told that it would work. He pulled the T56 that was hooked up to his LT1, and put a T56 that was hooked up to a LS1 to his LT1. What is up with that? I am confused?! I am going to rebuild the T56 when I get one anyways, but don't what to swap that may parts. Can some one put a light on this subject?

They both WILL bolt up ,the difference is in the clutch release systems- LT1 external slave/ shorter input gear & clutch housing -LS1 concentric slave cylinder, longer clutch housing & input. The mistake would be to mix/ match the components unless you swap the entiner front of the box as a set of parts.
