Not much done and not planning lots of track time?...I'd say you cant beat the stock replacement (which is now an upgrade from you 99MY). If you wanted something a little strong than stock and still affordable, you cant go wrong with a SPEC S2.

LS6 clutch kit IMHO, best bang for the buck and it'll hold the fort down through most of the bolt ons, even smaller cams. Just got my Spec 3 installed and its definitely a badass clutch, but its also more tempermental. I've heard the comparison between stock and Spec 3 akin to a dimmer switch and an on/off.....Spec 3 is definitely an on/off switch, at least so far. Still have a ways to go til I'm done breaking her in tho. I'll be running a bottle fed 231/237 tho, so the grab is gonna be needed

what would be a good clutch to last through all the bolt ons, and even a pretty serious cam and head upgrade?

I have a centerforce dual friction clutch right now, and I know the reviews on this board have been bad, but its worked for me so far through 5K miles (i think the clutch has a total of 7K on it). Then again, I dont have much done on my car except shorty headers and a magnaflow exahust.

Exedy Hyper Single all the way. Only 100 mi. on mine and it's as smooth as silk. It'll hold pretty much anything you can throw at it. VERY driveable! A little pricey. Worth every penny.

I've heard alot about the Ram clutches. The VDS system with the 900 series disc or the 6000 series.

I'm puttin 430 hp to the wheels (for now). What it the best clutch for me. I would prefer something streetable. I already have a cartek clutch which is about as unstreetable as it gets.

I am getting a Exedy. It might be pricey, but worth it. Can't wait till I get it and my tranny fixed this winter. Going through Rockland Standard Gear for my ****.

Dont forget that the Exedy is 13 punds lighter too.. At this time I dont see how anything else can be a better choice, stronger, lighter, built better, smooth, and not all THAT bad of price.

Spec Stg 3 with flywheel is around $700
McLeod Street Twin $1200
McLeod Single Disk $860
Ram VDS Clutch System w/ 300 series disk $800
Ram VDS Clutch System w/ 900 series disk $900
Ram Clutches HDX Clutch Set $700
Exedy Hyper Single $1028

I have a McLeod street twin and it's an awesome clutch. It will hold anything thrown it's way, feels like stock and most importantly McLeod service is second to none.

I have a Spec Stage 3, not even done breaking it in yet. Chatter is almost gone, and this clutch grabs like a ****. This should hold me through heads/cam, and when I throw the procharger on it/stroke it I'm going to be going with the McLeod Twin Disk. That ****** is bulletproof.

I wouldnt say bulletproof, if you do a search you will find people that have had plenty of troubles with it too.. Although it seems to work great for a lot of people. I was really disappointed when my Spec Stage 3 broke, especially not being raced or anything.

The stocker is o.k., but if you ever put slicks on your car..... like I did, it's toast. I'm going for a spec 4I. The peddle's gonna be stiff, but unless you are a pansey ***, it shouldn't be a big deal.
