Need Help with reverse lockout

Default Need Help with reverse lockout

I did an a4 to m6 conversion 6 months ago but never got around to hooking up the reverse lockout. I'm getting kind of tired giving reverse 100lbs to get it into gear. If I get the connector for the reverse lockout, where do I hook it up to. I know the PCM needs to send the signal but which wire in the pcm do I hook it up to.

A cool trick is to power it through the brake switch. It requires you to brake when shifting into reverse, but I would say that a common thing when shifting anyway. You could also use a momentary push button .

Thanks for the response ... Yeah I heard about the break thing but there's no way to tap into the PCM ?

I'm sure there is a way if you know the correct pin-out, I don't. The original signal is speed-controlled. I think the simple mode is the best.

hmm, I just found this

If you want to wire up the reverse lockout, you will need to tap pin D6 on the PCM (Blue cluster. If you look straight at the connector with the clip on the right, it is the 6th pin up from the bottom right). Connect this to the B side of the reverse lockup solenoid. The other side (A) needs ignition switched 12V - you can use the positive side of your reverse light switch (http://www.afrashteh.com/tranny_pics/T56.htm)

Now if I can only locate this place

Well , nice write up. It is for an LT1 are they the same pin-outs/ ECM as anLS1?

No they are not. Its pin 44 C2 for the reverse and the skip shift is pin 79 C1 if you are useing a LS1 based on like my 02 WS6.
Pin 44 C2 is blanked off and you need a pin adding tool to add this wire to the harness plug.
