Question Tranny Locked Up In Neutral?

Driving my Formula to work the other morning, I'm just down the road from my house. I go to downshift/pull it out of third gear and I can barely get it out. Then I can barely get it in or out of any gear! I'm having lots of problems just moving the shifter around when it's in neutral. So I get it into 2nd and drive it back home and pull it into the garage. I'm pretty sure it's not the clutch, as it engages and disengages fine when I can get it into gear. The clutch it also brand new. Anyone heard of thise happening before? The 3rd and 4th gear synchros were about gone, but I wouldn't think they would cause this type of problem. I mean, I can hardly move the shifter when it's in neutral...

You broke keys or otherwise hammered the shift rail linkage. Needs disassembly and some parts replacement.

If you beat on the shifter without using a shifter with stops, that commonly happens with the 3/4 synchro as it will overtravel.

Don't forget the drill mod.

I'm guessing that's a rebuild then. Any idea how much that costs? I can get a used local rebuilt one for like $600 - $700. FYI, I am selling the car come Spring.
