Default Spec Stage 2 Versus Ram HD with 900 series disc

Hi Guys,

I've been trying to decide which clutch to get and while the search button has turned up a few clues I haven't been able to find a comparison of these two clutches.

My car weighs 1000KG (2200lbs) and I'm running T56 6 speed, an IRS setup with 3.9 gears and 315/35/17 tyres. The LS1 motor is internally stock at the moment but will be getting heads and cam and a home built 8 throttle body intake. I figure it'll be close to 400RWHP.

The car will be used on the street with occasional trips down the 1/4 and circuit race meetings.

I'm using a Wilwood master cylinder and the stock hydraulic throwout with a braided flex line conecting them. I've also got a Yella Terra light weight steel flywheel that weighs about 15 pounds.

I thought about using the spec stage 3 initially and while it's a great clutch by most reports I think it might be a bit of overkill in such a light weight car. I also thought the stage 2 or Ram HD might be a bit more drivable.

From looking at the specs and pic I think the Ram HD with the 900 series disc and the spec stage 2 are very similar clutches at similar prices. Which do you think would work best for my application?

Cheers

Michael

Spec 3. Do it once, small car or not, you still only want to do it once and the spec3 is plenty drivable

Ram VDS with 900 series disk is VERY agressive and not really for street use.
Spec 3 is perfect for street use and good for the track. Ive had them both and recommend the Spec.

OK, so if I go with a Spec stage 3 which disc do I go for? The Carbon, the Kevlar or the Ceramic?

Cheers

I second the Spec...Doesn't ceramic have to get heated up before its really effective??
