McLeod Twin Plate in Aussie V8
Hey guys im from Melbourne Aus, i have a holden V8 and a t56 gearbox. The clutch is a pull type with a valeo pressure plate. i am assuming the the whole setup has been taken from the LT1 setup you guys use. however i need a larger capacity clutch and was thinking of the McLeod twin plate, i hear of people doing a drill mod and people having problems with the fork touching the pressure plate on disengagment. but i could find a procedure for these mods (in the search), and im not even sure if my car uses the same hydraulic master/slave as you have in US or flywheel for that matter, but i am told the fly will fit as the crankshaft bolt pattern can be used on my car by filing one of the holes slightly. so i have a couple of questions and any help would be greatly appriciated.
1: what exactly is the drill mod, and what does it achive?
2: can the shaving of the fork be avoided by changing the length of the slave pushrod?
3: Is the flywheel supplied with the McLeod kit thinner to compensate for the extra width of having another disc and floating plate?
btw, these gearboxes came factory behind the holden v8 355 stroker motor and i dont know if the flywheel is the same as the chev's. the problem is no -one has anyidea about the pulltype clutch setups in these things and dont want to know you when want something that will handle more power, there are no aftermarket clutches available here. we can get anything you have there but not 'specifically' for a holden.
thanks
