Clutch recommendations?
I'm getting ready to buy a new clutch, and I'd like to hear everyone's recommendations and opinions on my choices. The clutch will be going on the car with the mods in my sig, along with a Denny Nitrous Ready driveshaft, and a built-up transmission to take a little more abuse. In the future (probably within the next year or two) I'll be adding a set of heads, and possibly a small shot of nitrous (in the 100-150 hp range). This is a street/strip car, as I usually get out to the track twice a month during the spring/summer months... I only drive the car two or three times a week max.
Currently, I have the stock clutch... and I've had trouble at the track with it. It won't launch above 4500 rpms, and my shifts aren't as quick/crisp as they could be with a grabbier clutch. I'd like something that can handle 5000+ rpm launches on Et Streets, as well as be somewhat streetable. I'd also like the setup to be under $1000 if I can manage it. I've narrowed it down to some choices:
Spec Stage 3 or 4: I like the performance capabilities they claim and it seems to be popular, but people have had some trouble with them, especially lately.
Ram Powergrip Stage 4: Haven't read a whole lot about it, but seems to be a direct competitor for the Spec clutches. People have had good luck with Ram clutches, and their quality appears to be very good.
Mcleod Single Kevlar/Organic: Doesn't seem to be as popular as the other two, but also looks like a good blend of street/strip. I don't think they claim to have as much holding capability as the other two, but would probably be the most "street friendly."
If anyone has any other clutch suggestions, I'm open to them.
Thanks in advance! It is so streetable that you'll think you have a stock clutch in there.
No chatter at all, even when brand new.
Stage 3 holds 700 hp.
It grabs hard.
Great customer service.
I'm very satisfied with mine.

I was actually kind of leaning toward the Mcleod Single Kevlar/Organic because of the price ($800 or so, which includes the clutch, flywheel, and adjustable master), but the Clutch Master looks nice too even though it's a little more pricey.
