1-------2 Help! I have a 99 SS, and when I get on it in first and get the RPM's up, push the clutch it gets hung up when shifting to second and makes a loud grinding sound. Now if i'm crusing and get the RPMs past the skip shift, then slowly pull it into second, it goes. All other shifts are good to go. So, is it the syncros, or what?

. It sounds like shitty hydraulics to me. Your slave has gone to hydraulic Hell, or your MC has just taken a gigantic dump on your head. I have no idea how to tell the difference, but since you have a 99, the slave needs to be upgraded anyway.

i agree with the hydro guess. dude ive had some whacked out experiences with the clutch in my 01 ss lately. i took it to my mechanic and he found that when he dropped the tranny the slave cylinder literaly fell out in to pieces and flywheel was burnt pretty bad. i then got an evil grin ordered up a spec clutch and a few other goodies since it was gonna be up on a lift and am waiting for it to be installed this week. ive been driving manual trannies all my life and this one was acting up big time.
