Default Ram 910 vs 980

is the 980 more streetable than the 910?

I've had the 910 for a while now and it has lasted but its a huge pain in the *** to drive unless you rev upto 2000+ rpm when leaving from a stop.

I need a clutch that will handle 750rwhp and i was considering the Exedy until I talked to a top tuner who blew up the Exedy after 4 passes on his 427.

I've heard too many mixed reviews about the McLeod dual so looks like I am running out of options.

other than the streetability of the 910, did you like it? if so, bigger gears corrects the streetability issues of the 910

I have the 910 setup and with 4.10's its real streetable. The only thing I notice is when its been driven for a long while the on-off window gets small and is hard to engage smooth but I have no chatter issues.

i've had both and yes gears make a real difference but the 980 is a bit more forgiving for street driving.

For that kind of power you should stick with the 910. I love my 910 and drive it every day. I do have 4.33 gears. Its alot better than my spec III on the street(in traffic) and at the track.

I am makin alot less power than that and talked to Mike at RAM. Told him I would be putting some more power in soon and the car would see some N20. I had the 980 still in the box. He suggested I send it back and switch out for the 910. The cost was the same and it was only a 2hr drive so I drove down n he handed me the 910.

FWIW, I had the 980 for about 10K miles. Hard to drive in rush hour creeping traffic with 3:42's; had to rev it to 1600 to get moving. I'm sure gears would help.

So the 910 will handle more power than the 980? How about the RAM HD? Will the 910 last more than a SPEC 3? Or is it better to go with SPEC 5?

I am running the RAM HD with a 910 disc. That is a 402L pressure plate and a 910 disc. I am pretty sure Spec uses the same PP for the stg 5 as the stg 3.
I have no expeirience with the stg 5.
