LT1 to LS1 T56 parts conversion? ??
So far based on my searches here and others....
to convert a LT1 t56 to a LS1 t56 I will need to change the adaptor plate
(front case that will bolt to LS1 bellhousing) and the input shaft.
I already know about the Peripheral stuff.(bell housing, clutch etc...)
Anything else in regard to the t56?
Thanks

Your LS1T56( unless its a ZO6unit) has a 2.66 gear set. The 2.66 LT1 T56 was most common and the input shafts are interchangeable. You should plan to check/re-shim the input bearing(cluster too because you are changing the whole front adapter plate) @time of swap. Do a tooth count comparison of the two shafts(the head-end ratio not the spline) and you should be ok.You did not say if you have two units or you are going for parts. It is really easy to tell the ratio sets with the #s from the metal tag on the rear extension flange bolt.
