800 Horsepower 8000rpm Manual Tranny Needed
I am currently helping a buddy with some part selection for his 68 camaro. This will be about a 2800-3000lbs raceweight vehicle powered by a 400ci SB2 motor. This motor will be cabable of up to 800 horsepower and 8000rpm.
I need to know what kind of transmission can take this kind of punishement. I am only interested in manual transmissions and preferably ones that are street friendly. So no clutchless after first gear engagement transmissions will suffice unless they are street friendly.
My concern is that I know they make manual transmissions that will take this power, i.e. the t56, TKO, etc. but will they shift at 8000 rpm is my main concern.
He currently has a richmond 5 speed. Does anybody know if that box can be built to take that kind of abuse? I would imagine the synchronizer assembly is the main concern here.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Look at the Tex Racing gearboxes. Supposed to be better than the Jerico boxes. The guy who sold me the Jerico said if he was doing it he would recommend the Tex Racing one. Of course the Tex box was $600 more than my Jerico... so I had to make the decision that the Jerico was good enough for my limited use.

Tex Racing gets their parts from Gforce... the G101 and T101 are basically the same transmission the drag racing version has wider gears 1/16 I belive as well as modified sliders and face paltes.. I build Tex Racing T101A's everyday at work and would stand behind them 110% A Jerico is decent transmission also their just a pain in the *** to work on (I can swap ration in a 101 in about 15 minutes) Jerico much longer.. If I can be of any assistance let me know..
