This is an old arguement, both have their benefits. Big Rick ran that 8.35 on his first full pass down the track, with around 950rwhp. He put it back on the dyno to retune it and made 1238rwhp(try that with a non C5R ls1) . He planned on taking it back to the track that weekend(November) to break into the 7's. Unfortunately it spun a bearing on a later dyno pass, from what was believed to be the same sabotage attempt that damaged his turbo at the Thundershoot(and limited him to that one full pass) and another of HPE's cars. The setup is back together and will be back at the track soon. I dont think Ronnie Dukes record will be that hard for him to break.

And I'd just like to mention since the topic is on T-56's that the LT1 owns both the overall record(Taner, 9.44) and the NA record(Mindgame, ran a 9.82 almost 3 years ago) in regards to the 4th gen records.

What clutch you using now? I'm looking for a new clutch my stock "zo6" clutch is about goner at 12,000 Miles on the clock.
That video was stock clutch with a 12 bolt rear.Since that video I have done K-member,lower control arms, skinny's up front,3" X-pipe to dual bullets, spec 3I clutch, bigger injectors and racetronics fuel pump, rear shocks,TNT power ring. When I get everything worked out I should be a very low 10 spraying or better. My stock clutch was still great on the street but would slip at the track at 1,200 miles

Well the firebird is stock except for a lid and a cutout, and I havent gotten a chance to get her to the track yet, but she will be in the 10's one day. I need to check and see if qualcom has the track still open while its dry down here.
