Default Help me bleed my clutch..... Pleeeeeaaaasssseee!

My slave failed in a big way. Lost all the fluid in the system. I've got a new slave on the car now, but can't get the system working again.
I've pumped and bled; gravity fed; just pumped; and cussed like hell.

It feels like the master isn't pushing any fluid.

Anyone have any tips on getting these hydraulics jump-started?

I'm tired, and very discouraged. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We reverse bled it and it worked like a charm.... 1st try.....10 minutes and we were done.

We used a donor quick-connect fitting off the broken slave. When you punch out the roll pin, the fitting comes out and has a nipple on the end that a hose or a MityVac can easily plug on to.

Connect that to the Master hose, and reverse bleed from the bottom, through the master cyl until it's clear of air. You'll need someone up top to suck out the extra fluid. Unhook the donor female fitting, and the quick connect should retain the fluid. Just in case there was some air in the slave, we pumped and bled the slave through the bleeder immediately after reconnecting the quick disconnect.

I had a much better day today... car's all back together and running really good with the new heads.

Here's my method: With the bleeder closed pump the clutch 30 times (even if you have to pull it back up with your toe). Then push it to the floor and hold it there while a buddy opens the bleeder...you should feel the clutch pedal go down another inch...continue to hold it down while your buddy closes the bleeder. Pull the pedal back up with your toe and repeat....keep checking the master cylinder to keep it full of fluid....after 4 or 5 times the system should be fully bled.

I've almost got it down to an art:

typically I'll have the master out for a swap...but you can do it in the car....

Disconnect the slave line....push the pedal to the floor and hold...then have someone push the plunger in the line to relieve the pressure. close the plunger and repeat until you get a good stream out. KEEP AN EYE ON THE RESEVOIR.

Plug in the hose to the slave and 2-3 pumps should give you full pressure.

Good luck <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">
