Honestly, I think you can take it out of the box and pound on it. I'm sure Pete would cringe at folks doing that. Like the brakes on your car you want to bed it in and get a bit of material transfer, and a nice wear pattern on the plate. I think on most clutches most folks find about 200-500 miles of around town driving is enough to get the job done and be on the safe side....

Hello J-Rod. I read your first post. And I understand what you're saying. It isn't all that important to me because my car is stock with just a few mods and I'm not going to the track to do any 5K dumps. I did recently fry my stock setup and I bought a SPEC product w/Fidanza that chattered like crazy but is quieting down. It will last a while for my purposes. For the other people who need a clutch upgrade right now, they have to make the decision, not me. As far as trade secrets go, I never asked for any. I read on the holden ls1 site that Plan B posted up that Pete holds a patent on this setup. In order to get a patent, you have to provide the patent office with the details of your product that distinguish it from the other products already out there, and that information then becomes public knowledge. That's how/why the government gives an applicant a protected period of time wherein others cannot legally copy the product/process. I'm sure if it is patented and Pete holds the patent, I can find it one night when I can't sleep, it would just be easier if I had the patent number.

None the less, I'll watch the posts with interest and anticipation. I've been a gear head for a long time and I've never seen a place where other gear heads so readily shared what they've done and how they've done it. I'm having fun and learning a great deal about my little LS1. Thanks to all.
