Long time since i got on here but either way I havent had a problem with 3-4 shift at all it really just flows into gear with me. I have stock hurst shifter in now but i'd like to give the Pro 5.0 a shot ive heard nothing but good things about it.

I never thought about the second gear lockout mod you fellas are talking about. To me it seems kinda pointless but you could rig a micro switch to make on the 3rd gear position to activate and one on the 4th de deactivate. I took the skip shift lobe off when I went through my tranny(dead weight

If you have a skipshift eliminator you have to take it off and have Cags programmed out. What it is is a switch manually controlling the skipshift solenoid, so when I go to 3rd I have the button right below the shifter so i hit it with my pinky and it locks out 2nd gear so you absolutely cant go back into 2nd you can only go to 4th. You can also wire and LED to it to let you know when its activated. Id have to look for the paper for the wiring.

Post it. That sounds pretty trick.

Id like to hear more out this lockout. It may be too many buttons with the nitrous button on the shifter, but id like to look into it.
Im thinking as I type so bear with me.....The skip shift is supposed to make you shift from 1 to 4 normally, blocking 2nd. But, if it is activated after youre already in 3rd, then it could keep you from backing into 2nd. Nice. Is it 12 volts to activate the solenoid?

can anyone shift their pro 5.0 from 3rd to 4th FAST without grabbing your shifter backwards with your thumb down?
anyone with a T-handle B&M on top of their pro 5.0?
ive just got a standard **** but im wondering if the T-handle would get your arm close enough to the right position.
my car should be done soon, and i dont want to mess it up- grabbing the shifter backwards is not natural and i forgot a couple of times when it counted.
any input?

I'll get pictures of it this week when i get it all put back together, seriously it does work. As soon as I hit 3rd I hit the button and it locks out 2nd and i go straight to 4th. As soon as I go through to traps I tap the button again to turn it off and its back to normal. Its a very wise mod that can save your motor and money.

I have the pro 5.0 shifter and Lou's short stick and never miss a gear. At the track I power shift between 6800-7000. But thats me. If your missing gears your gonna end up breaking slider keys and your tranny is gonna end up locking your shifter in gear and your gonna have to pop the clutch and yank to get it out of gear so watch it.

I drove my buddies WS6 yesterday and he just got a pro 5.0, and his felt more solid then mine. I have a pro 5.0 in my car, but it was in the car when I bought it a year and a half ago, mine just doesn't feel solid to me. Did it change at all?

BTW, I miss 2-3 shift the most, missed 3-4 a few times, but I don't think I was paying attention. I just fingers on the very front of the ****, and throw it back. I have a hurst **** also, I tried a hurst classic ****, but I like the feel of the hurst ****.....

I have the hurst classic shift ball, its kind of big but Ive gotten used to it.
on the 3-4 I just try to bring my elbow out to the side and use more of a backwards shoulder motion to get the angle more back and to the right. if you try to pull it straight back towards you it is really at a left angle and it might go in 2nd
practice with the engine off so you get the feel for it real good, then practice shifting real fast when driving, because its different racing than normal driving. When you race you get more nervous/tense and might mess up
